Shrestha, who was born in a middle-class farmer's family, has now held the responsibility of a member of the House of Representatives (MP) after a political struggle of about three and a half decades. Inspired by the Jan Andolan of 2046, she started her journey with Student Politics (Aneraswaviyu) in 2047. Having held the important responsibilities of UML's ward committee, village committee and district committee, she raised her voice against discrimination and backwardness prevalent in the society and established herself as an established leader.
