Also known as: Gangadevi Shrestha · Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha

Ganga Devi Shrestha serves in the House of Representatives for Nepal Communist Party (UML), selected through proportional representation under the Janajati, Female group after Nepal's 2026 general election. The life story of Gangadevi Shrestha of Neelkanth-7 of Dhading is a vivid example of how a woman from an ordinary family can make her way to the highest organ of the state 'Parliament' with strong will and patience. Shrestha, who was born in a middle-class farmer's family, has now held the responsibility of a member of the House of Representatives (MP) after a political struggle of about three and a half decades. Inspired by the Jan Andolan of 2046, she started her journey with Student Politics (Aneraswaviyu) in 2047. Having held the important responsibilities of UML's ward committee, village committee and district committee, she raised her voice against discrimination and backwardness prevalent in the society and established herself as an established leader.
