Summary

Harina Devi Kami is a Nepalese politician and House of Representatives member for Nepali Congress, selected from the proportional list under the Dalit, Female group after Nepal's 2026 general election. 37-year-old Harina Kami was born in Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality of Dadeldhura and currently her work house is in Parashuram Municipality-12 Tulabhadi. Growing up in a typical rural environment, amidst economic deprivation and social discrimination, she was able to acquire formal education only up to the 10th standard. After getting married at a young age, her early life was spent like other rural women in grass-cutting, fair-cutting and farming. However, after seeing the inequality of Dalits and women in the society, she felt the need to do something for social change and started a campaign to make village women self-reliant through women's groups and agricultural cooperatives.
