Gangalakshmi Awal is an inspiring woman born in a farmer family of Bhaktapur. Even though the traditional society advises that women do not need to read much, it is enough if they know how to do calculations and they should go to their husband's house after marriage, she defied that and achieved higher education. She has a master's degree in social science and political science and a master's degree in sustainable energy management. From a young age, she started earning by selling vegetables, weaving woolen caps and later started a business of weaving clothes from Tibetan wool.
