सुजाता तामाङ राष्ट्रिय स्वतन्त्र पार्टीबाट समानुपातिकतर्फ प्रतिनिधिसभा सदस्य हुन्। उनको चयन आदिवासी जनजाति, महिला समूहबाट भएको हो। डा. सुजता तामाङको जन्म संखुवासभाको तुम्लिङटारमा एक सामान्य किसान परिवारमा भएको हो। सात दाजुभाइ दिदीबहिनीमध्ये छैटौं सन्तानका रूपमा जन्मेकी सुजताले कक्षा ७ सम्मको अध्ययन जन्मथलोमै पूरा गरिन्। आर्थिक रूपमा कृषिमा निर्भर परिवारमा हुर्किएकी उनले आफ्ना दाजुभाइको सहयोगमा धरान, हेटौंडा र चितवन हुँदै काठमाडौंसम्म आएर उच्च शिक्षा हासिल गर्ने अवसर पाइन्। उनले त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालयबाट ग्रामीण विकासमा स्नातकोत्तर गरेकी छन् भने अष्ट्रेलियाको युनिभर्सिटी अफ न्यू साउथ वेल्सबाट 'नेपालको ग्रामीण क्षेत्रमा खाद्य सुरक्षामा महिलाको भूमिका' विषयमा विद्यावारिधि (PhD) हासिल गरेकी छन्।
