Sita Thapaliya serves in the House of Representatives for Nepali Congress, selected through proportional representation under the Khas Arya, Female group after Nepal's 2026 general election. Sita Thapalia (Urmila) is a courageous and combative leader of the Jan Andolan of 2062/63, who is currently a proportional Member of Parliament from the Nepali Congress. Born in Siddalek Rural Municipality of Dhading, she devoted herself to the movement against monarchy from her student life. Urmila, who fought in the front line of the anti-regressive movement, has made her mark in national politics by handling various responsibilities of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh.
