Basana Thapa is a Nepalese politician and House of Representatives member for Nepali Congress, elected from Dailekh-1 in Nepal's 2026 general election. Born on 15th May 2037 in Kathmandu, Basana Thapa is an educated, combative and influential youth leader. Thapa's grandfather, Nar Bahadur Thapa, who grew up in a family with a political legacy was an elected Member of Parliament from Kathmandu in the first election of 2015. Thapa, who has completed her Master's degree in Sociology, has been living permanently in Narayan Municipality of Dailekh after her marriage in 2059. She is also active in the hotel business and social sector, taking politics as a service. Her clear vision and activism, especially on women's economic empowerment and social justice issues, has established her as a popular and trusted leader at the local level.
