बर्षमान पुन नेपाली कम्युनिष्ट पार्टीबाट रोल्पा-१ का प्रतिनिधिसभा सदस्य हुन्। उनी २०८२ को निर्वाचनमा प्रत्यक्ष निर्वाचित भएका हुन्। बर्षमान पुन नेपालका एक कम्युनिष्ट राजनितिज्ञ हुन् । हाल एकीकृत नेपाल कम्युनिष्ट पार्टी (माओवादी)बाट राजनीति गरिरहेका पुन संविधानसभा निर्वाचन २०७०मा मोरङ क्षेत्र नम्बर ९ मा नेपाली कांग्रेसका डिग बहादुर लिम्बुसँग पराजित भए। उनी २०६७ माघ २३ मा झलनाथ खनालको नेतृत्वमा गठन भएको मन्त्रिपरिषदमा शान्ति तथा पुनर्निर्माण मन्त्रीको रूपमा सहभागी थिए । त्यस्तै २०६८ भदौ १२ मा गठित डा. बाबुराम भट्टराईको नेतृत्वको सरकारमा अर्थमन्त्रीको रूपमा सहभागी भए ।
