Summary

Kul Bhakta Shakya is a Nepalese politician and House of Representatives member for Nepal Communist Party (UML), selected from the proportional list under the Janajati, Male group after Nepal's 2026 general election. Kulbhakta Shakya was born in 2017 in Lagantol, Kathmandu. He became active in student politics around 2035/36 while studying at Pulchok Engineering Campus. It was at this time that the Nepal Language (Newari Language) Preservation Movement began under the leadership of Padmaratna Tuladhar, who protested against the language suppression of the Panchayat system. Shakya joined this movement and remained close to Tuladhar and participated in political and social campaigns for about a decade. He was active in various organizations of the Newar community, working for the preservation of language, culture and heritage. Shakya, who was inclined towards left-wing ideas, got a chance to gain deep experience in social issues through this trip.
