Sumnima Udas

Sumnima Udas serves in the House of Representatives for Rastriya Swatantra Party, selected through proportional representation under the Janajati, Female group after Nepal's 2026 general election. Former journalist Sumnima Udas, who has held the position of South Asia Head of the international media CNN (CNN), has an impressive and varied experience.. After leaving a successful career in journalism, she became active in Nepal's heritage conservation and is now a proportional member of parliament (hon.) in the House of Representatives of Nepal. Udas, who received her higher education from Oxford and the US, reported on many topics that gained international attention during her time in journalism. Lately, she has been dedicated to the campaign to build a world-class "Silk Road" museum in Lumbini and the preservation of Nepal's antiquities.
