समिक्षा बास्कोटा २०८२ को प्रतिनिधिसभा निर्वाचनपछि राष्ट्रिय स्वतन्त्र पार्टीको खस आर्य, महिला समानुपातिक सूचीबाट प्रतिनिधिसभामा चयन भएका सदस्य हुन्। समीक्षा बास्कोटाको जन्म पाँचथरको एउटा प्रतिष्ठित राजनीतिक परिवारमा भएको हो; उनका पिता दीपकप्रसाद बास्कोटा पूर्व गृहराज्यमन्त्री हुन्। उनले काठमाडौंको लिटिल एन्जल्स स्कुलबाट एसएलसी उत्तीर्ण गरेपछि काठमाडौं स्कुल अफ लबाट कानुनमा स्नातक (LLB) गरिन्। थप अध्ययनका लागि अमेरिका पुगेकी बास्कोटाले त्यहाँबाट कानुनमै स्नातकोत्तर (LLM) पूरा गरिन्। सन् २०१० मा नेपाल फर्किएपछि उनले सिभिल बैंकमा 'लिगल अफिसर'को रूपमा व्यावसायिक यात्रा सुरु गरेकी थिइन्। केही समय बैंकिङ क्षेत्रमा काम गरेपछि उनले आफ्नै कानुनी फर्म स्थापना गरिन् र पारिवारिक चिया व्यवसाय (बास्कोटा ग्रुप) लाई ब्रान्डिङ गर्ने कार्यमा पनि सक्रिय भइन्।
